cbeams is a, screensaver? It quotes tears in rain monologue of Roy Batty from Blade Runner (1982):

Ive seen things you people wouldnt believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tearsinrain. Time to die.

And this must be it:

I guess you can call this script reimagine a part of what Roy Batty has seen in his final monologue, in a fashion of terminal. Numerous explosions everywhere.

If you havent seen Song for Marion (2013), watch the trailer and then the film first. Its a great film to enjoy and not boring at all. You need to watch the film first to feel the song performed by Terence Stamp as Arthur.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/CjSix58CXQQ/mqdefault.jpg

But lets talk about the film title in the USA first, not sex. We all know the phrase lose in translation and we also know some films have been titled with translations that just dont do the films justice. The Americans title Unfinished Song is a great example of lost in translation.

If you have watched the film, you know that title is just not right. Its like the jury delivering a verdict, a dead, toneless, emotionless verdict. There is nothing in that translation, its just plainly stating. Song for Marion on the other hand may seem so as well, but if you have only watched the trailer, you can feel something from that title.

Americans title is the only one took away the feeling from the original title. But wait! The original title is English. So, how on Earth could you even translate from British English to American English and result in a worse title? Why at first place were you trying to translate?

Maybe the person think he or she could title it better than original one? Unfortunately, its like the age-old question: Do you like the original or remake better? Frankly, Unfinished Song sounds like a movie featuring Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Jason Statham. With some odd twist about a song of secret.

Back to the song. Lullaby (Goodnight, My Angel) is originally by Billy Joel in 1993, which I like also. However, with the story, I must favor Arthurs version more.

In the film, the OAPz has their first public performance at a park, Marion (Vanessa Redgrave) sings True Colours of Eva Cassidy. A year ago, I wrote about Time after Time by Eva Cassidy and mentioned the song in the end of post. I was thinking which song I should feature in this SotD, I decided to pick Lullaby.

I really like Arthur, not his originally exposed personality, but how he becomes as the story goes. You watch him slowly interacting and sharing of himself more with other people, and finally building up the courage to perform in front of many audiences.

What do I have to do to get us through to the competition?

Im prepared to do anything.

Cups (Pitch Perfects When Im Gone) (2011) by Anna Kendrick, is a cover of the original song Cups (Youre Gonna Miss Me) (2009) by Lulu and the Lampshades, which is a rendition of Miss Me When Im Gone (1937) by J. E. Mainers Mountaineers and Youre Gonna Miss Me When Im Gone (1938) by (Charlie) Monroes Boys, according to Wikipedia.

Confused? Well, just enjoy Anna Kendricks music video version.

https://i.ytimg.com/vi/cmSbXsFE3l8/maxresdefault.jpg

Never had watched Pitch Perfect or any of her television shows or films, but I did know she is also a singer after I stumbled across her Wikipedia page, though never heard of any singing of hers until Cups.

Once again, a YouTube recommendation popped up, but I wasnt sure this was a good one when the video just started, although I like baking part at the beginning. When she started playing the cup I thought this wouldnt be like that world record freaking awesome cup stacking video, would it? That would be so weird for a music video.

The music video turned out quite interesting when I realized thats some beats from playing the cup and clapping. That chef can drum, and that guy at 312 is hilarious when he couldnt get the cup out at the first try.

Because of this music video, though it has nothing to do with the story of Pitch Perfect, I watched the film and I like it. Its not like the usual films that you would hate the antagonists to the bones, in fact, I dont really feel the film has one. Of course, it has, just very weak. Id describe its a film of positivity. Certainly, it has the element of romance, you know the boy meets the girls, and they get together in the end after some silly arguments. Which I really dont like films or television shows have that. Like antagonist in this film, that part isnt the focus, or should I say that I simply ignored and concentrated on the music.

Did she really sing Youre gonna miss my taco?

Yes, I know it's still 2012. When the clock tells me it's 2013, I will be too lazy to summarize it. Besides, Doomsdays is coming, we probably wouldn't have seen the new year. Yeap, I know. Again. Only silly people will believe Doomsdays is true, right? How could they not see the real threat is Juno?

Moving the range one month ahead, so when it's said 2012 in this post, it means from December, 2011 to November, 2012. First, starts with the summary in case you just want to read the numbers.

Only 321 words per post, it's not very long. I wish my posts will reach 1,000 words in average in the future, though I won't keep that in mind when writing. Blogging shouldn't be like that, it should go with the flow of mood, not the word count.

Numbers from Google Analytics

Compare to 2011, the numbers are doubled, even four months have no new posts. In Blogger Stats, the pageviews are 172,645, that's 42.7% more than 120,945 in Google Analytics.

Top posts haven't changed much, three posts written in 2012 got into the list.

As for traffic sources, more people from search engine, which is not what I wanted at all.

Television shows and films

In 2012, I watched 1,240 episodes of television shows and 29 films. Just for rough average number 1,240 * 1h + 29 * 2h = 1,240 hours + 58 hours ~= 54 days.

Holy cow, 54 days! I spent two months on watching television shows and films in 2012.

I wish I was wrong but I took very detail records. After I watch an episode, I use VimNotes to take a record with timestamp. One episode per line, so grep and wc can get the correct numbers. I have been keeping record since October, 2010.

If I was able to count my time spent on YouTube, that would definitely contribute a lot.

Do you have The Bucket List [IMDb, Wikipedia] (things that you want to do before you kick the bucket [die])? What would you be thinking when a doctor tells you only have six months to live, a year if you are lucky?

Two questions: Have you found joy in your life? and Has your life brought joy to others?

I think for both of Edward and Carter, they are seeking the joy and trying to bring joy to each other. Carter dedicated his life to his family, at the last time of his life for the first time, he is encouraged by Edward to do what he hadn't had a chance or courage to fulfill.

Does life have purpose? How do you measure a life? Is life really measurable? Everyone has own answer. But do we need answers to our lives? Life is not as simple as yes or no. You may or may not be descibing your life in words. However, I am sure that life needs to be experienced. You can't not just live by what people tell you, we need to find out a way to live, our own way. Each life is unique, whether it is good or bad.

If your answers to both questions are No, then you haven't got you life started. It would never be too late to do something until you stop breathing.

If you happen in depression mood, you might be better not to see Watchmen. It's not the images are dark but the screenplay, the whole story really make me sad. I am kind of repenting of seeing it at this moment, it's not a bad movie, but too dark for me.

The nuclear age and situation between USA and Soviet Union is the main timeline. You know either side hits the red button, the entire world goes down or to hell. At the end, someone else did hit, but motion behinds that is really freaking me out. I totally can't agree that, though Dr. Manhattan agrees and result seems to peace. It's overwhelmingly sad, I was speechless at that moment. What if that really happened to us? to this real world?

Roschach is my favorite character in this movie. Chasing the truth so hard, but his ending is tragic. I still can't accept that. Dr. Manhattan is like an emotionless person or robot? He seems to be perfect with logic and beauty of mathematics, but if it involves human, that would be a disaster, sort of.

It's a good movie but a rated R++ one not really have such rating. But it might not be a good time to watch it when you already feel gloom.

Greatly disappointing... I want to say this film is completely for some fans. As you can see, they let Mulder and Scully be together. Is that a good arrangement? or I should yell finally? Did you notice the strange cast listing and the very end scene? rowing a boat? I can't get it... really can't.

I was a fan of The X Files, but I didn't watch every episode. Honestly, I don't remember much of the story. It's a movie, but it's actually worse than being a mini-episode. IMDb rating 6.0 is way too kind.

I Want to Believe that is The X Files!

I tried to search a movie, which I have watched its trailer only. I don't know the title, names, actors, actresses, release year, and production country at all. In other words, I almost know nothing about it.

Here is a list about what I can recall but may not correctly:
  • Not an American movie, seems to be French movie.
  • The leading male character is a veteran, or well-trained person with weapons and some other skills.
  • A leading male character's female relative is kidnapped and he tries to save on his own.
  • Seems to be a action, crime, and comedy movie. It's comedy because there seems to have a conversation like "Is that he is too good, or we like a sh*t?," says a bad guy when this bad guy sees the leading male character's skills.
  • There is a scene like: the leading male character jumps off from a small airplane onto a dropping car. (Not really sure about the car part).
  • Shooting.
  • Should be released in the last 2 or 3 years.
Do you have any idea about what movie this is possibly? I have tried to search on IMDb, but no luck.

Updated on 2009-03-02: I finally saw this film on HBO, and I was so wrong only last two are correct. This film's name is Shoot 'Em Up.

Get Smart is not like Austin Powers, although there are some moments quite same playing like an idiot. Agent 86 does have something. The only (maybe not) twist is easy to expect and to guess whom is the double agent.

It's hilarious, of course. Ann Hathaway is another plus for this film, I don't mean her acting. Honestly, I don't have much to say about this kind of film. Just have fun to see it.

Has anyone tried the stapler? That must be very hurt.

I didn't think Wanted is a film I would like. After saw it, I think it's quite interesting and so is its title. Beside the action parts, it seems to knock you up for your life. Getting you to ponder how you live. Of course not to compare with the exciting life in this film. But remind you what you are doing or what have you been up to lately.

Wesley Gibson has a 9-to-5 boring job. Suddenly, the whole world changes in a night. Well, we don't need that such big change and that probably is just a daydream, but we can try to make few small changes to live our life vividly.

Once in a while, I would go into depression and cut some connections off. Then, I get boosted up. I must say that is not right to live but I can see at least. Every time I back, I usually would do something different. That is like small experiment to find out a better way to handle my life. Someday, I can really live.

This film wasn't named "Assassination" or something like that but "Wanted." That doesn't feel like FBI Wanted list when you see this film. It's more suitable to explain it as "wanted life" or "wanted things." He wanted to be an assassin and he did do it. Thinking is not enough, you also need doing.

What the fuck have you done lately?

PS. the ending is out of my imagination, I can guess the result but didn't think Fox would do in that way.

Every time a film has religion as part of elements, I can not write much about it since I don't know much.

The most interesting thing is not about this film, even it has good action scenes. When I read the cast list, Ashraf Barhorn (played Colonel Faris Al Ghazi) got my attention. The biography writes "He is Israeli, of Arabic heritage." Before this, I thought Israel is 100% Jewish citizens. I was wrong. "Arab citizens of Israel" explains 19.7% citizens of Israel are Arabs. I know there are Arabs live in Israel, but I never thought they have citizenship. Maybe they do not think they are citizens of Israel?

One more thing about this film I want to mention is what Ronald told to Janet and Abu Hamza told to his grandson:
Ronald Fleury: I told her we were gonna kill 'em all.
15-Year-Old Grandson: Don't fear them, my child. We are going to kill them all.
I believe that is to point out whoever you are, most of use are not saint. Only few people can convert angry into forgiveness and even help the enemies. Many cultures or religions teach their people not to use violence or to revenge by indignation, I wonder how many of use can follow when things happen on us?
